NO TIME TO WASTE Rural & Regional Waste Management Conference 2024

The Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) Waste Forum held its most recent No Time to Waste (NTTW) Conference on Wednesday 30 andThursday 31 October 2024 at The Rules Club, Wagga Wagga.

The October 2024 Conference had an exciting lineup of speakers who left the delegates informed and inspired in many areas of waste avoidance and resource recovery. The No Time to Waste Conference facilitated professional development for people working in waste avoidance and resource recovery in rural and regional areas as well as provided an excellent networking opportunity for delegates who attended. Prior to the conference a free workshop for Local Government was held: Circular Economy Precincts and was hosted by the NSW EPA. It was a 3 hour workshop facilitated by Circular Australia in partnership with the NSW Environment Protection Authority. Attendees gained insight and knowledge on how to activate circular economy in their local government precincts.

The workshop covered:

  • Circular Economy Context in NSW.

  • Circular Economy Hubs and Precincts: Lisa McLean from Circular Australia will present on the recently released Circular Precincts Report, including practical guidance for local government.

  • Precinct Case Study: Peter Windley from Shoalhaven City Council will present on the circular economy precinct at West Nowra Recycling and Waste Depot.  Focusing on how they overcame barriers to implementing circular economy principles, found solutions to waste stream problems, and how to go from talking about circular economy to taking action.

  • Workshop opportunities and challenges to embed Circular Economy thinking in your local government area.


In September 2025 a new conference Innovation in Energy, Waste and the Circular Economy (IEWCE) was held at The Range Function Centre in Wagga Wagga.
