The Riverina Eastern Regional Organisation of Councils (REROC) Waste Forum is once again holding its No Time to Waste Conference on Wednesday 30 to Thursday 31 October 2024 at The Rules Club, Wagga Wagga.

The October 2024 Conference has an exciting lineup of speakers who are sure to leave the delegates informed and inspired in many areas of waste avoidance and resource recovery. The No Time to Waste Conference facilitates professional development for people working in waste avoidance and resource recovery in rural and regional areas as well as providing an excellent networking opportunity for delegates attending on the day.

Free Workshop for Local Government: Circular Economy Precincts - Hosted by the NSW EPA

Don’t miss this free 3-hour circular economy workshop facilitated by Circular Australia in partnership with NSW Environment Protection Authority.

You will gain deep insight and knowledge on how to activate circular economy in your local government area, why precincts are the place to start and who you need to work with to begin the journey towards circularity.

The workshop will cover:

  • Circular Economy Context in NSW.

  • Circular Economy Hubs and Precincts: Lisa McLean from Circular Australia will present on the recently released Circular Precincts Report, including practical guidance for local government.

  • Precinct Case Study: Peter Windley from Shoalhaven City Council will present on the circular economy precinct at West Nowra Recycling and Waste Depot.  Focusing on how they overcame barriers to implementing circular economy principles, found solutions to waste stream problems, and how to go from talking about circular economy to taking action.

  • Workshop opportunities and challenges to embed Circular Economy thinking in your local government area.

Who is this for?

Local government practitioners who want to learn more about circular economy hubs and precincts, overcoming the challenges of implementation and the benefits that can be gained. This workshop will benefit officers from the waste, sustainability, economic development, and procurement areas working in Council and Joint Organisations.
